I hated the in-laws that came with a marriage I was basically being sold into, so I caused a scene at the family meeting and proposed a contract marriage to the second male lead.
I was just about to strike a deal—marrying him in exchange for giving him useful information from the original story.
“Alright.”
“Duke, I know my proposal must sound ridiculous, but—…what??”
“I’ll agree to the contract, as you wish, my lady.”
He agreed immediately? Without even hearing the details? Without any suspicion?
Second male lead… were you always this easy?
“I’ve never felt this miserable while loving someone.”
“You don’t have to accept me. But until the contract ends, please allow me to stay by your side.”
I definitely entered a contract marriage with the second male lead.
He was supposed to be a cold northern duke who hated people—so I assumed we’d be worse than strangers.
But why are you acting so desperate?
This is a contract marriage, right?
“Something terrible happened! The contract is gone!”
“Is that so?”
“I’m sure I put it safely in the drawer… I’m sorry. Let’s just write a new one.”
“I’ve thought about it, and does a marriage really need a contract?”
“…What?”
“A marriage only needs a vow. And we are husband and wife whose names are written on that vow.”
“But you and I have a contract—”
“My Lady, what I am saying is that I have no intention of letting you go.”
The second male lead—who was supposed to be devoted only to the original heroine—is now obsessing over me instead.
Why on earth is this happening?
